The Chicken Wing Master Chefs!

Aunt Sue (from Colorado), Mom, and Aunt Kathy!

Mr. Scotty Karate himself!
Alvin playing some after party tunes!

The Annual Chicken Wing Thing at the Dark Horse Brewing Company was held August 25th. Six great bands, the release of the Perkulator Doppelboch, tattoos, and your choice of 13 sauces with chicken wings will leave anyone with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I think fun was had by all!

Cohen Robert Lee

Announcing the birth of Cohen Robert Lee to Leslie and Shawn Lee of Bellingham, Washington. Congratulations Leslie and Shawn!!! I can't wait to meet him. Leslie and I went to high school together and are very close friends! I miss her much and can't wait to meet Cohen! He weighed 7lbs and 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long!

South Haven

Grandma and I took Remee to the beach this weekend! I think he had a blast. After all that playing, he climbed up on the cuch with Grandpa and took a nap!

Remee and his Cousins

Here are a couple pictures of Remee and his cousins. It was was awesome that he got a chance to play with some of his relatives that he has never met before!

Simula Family

Here is a picture of the my Mom and her siblings. They are all 100% Finn. It was great to see them all together at the same place! They reminisced about growing up on the farm and the Yooperisms. My Aunt Sally could have sworn the Pank was a word "pank that snowman," but my Uncle Alan proved her wrong by looking it up in the dictionary. Hell, I think it fits well. I just unpanked my suitcase last night!

The Wedding

My cousin Buffy got married! It was a Medieval theme (I am not surprised!). Here are a couple of pictures of the day! She lived with me for about a year in Marquette while she attended massage therapy school. She then moved to Florida for about 8 years and ended up rekindling a high school romance and moved back to the UP. She had just had a baby boy (Brody) about 2 weeks before the wedding. He is a big boy weighing out at almost 10lbs! It was great seeing her and the rest of the family! It isn't very often we get to see each other!

Keewanaw Peninsula

The end of July I headed up to the northern UP near the Keewanaw Peninsula. I am particularly fond of this area because this is where my Mom grew up in a very tiny community called Keewanaw Bay. I practically grew up there in the summers playing on my Grandparent's farm and paling around with my 4 cousins who lived next door. It was quite convenient that I was working during the week, but my cousin Buffy was getting married the following weekend as well as, a Simula Family reunion. Nothing is better that getting a bunch of Finns together reminiscing about the good old days! My Mom drove Remee up on Thursday and we camped at the Baraga State Park. Here are a few pics of Remee playing on the playground that I used to play on when I camped there as a little girl!

Out and About

Between my digital camera breaking, leaving town for over week on business, and spending a little time in South Haven, I am finally settling in at home again. I also purchased a new camera, so I am hoping to caqpture the fantabulous moments of the Morse happenings.
